    Swagerman is gone...

I got a phone call yesterday, letting me know that I had lost one of my Aunts. I didn't even know she was sick enough to be concerned. They didn't know for sure what time the funeral is going to be Friday, but said they would let me know, and would be putting the obituary in the paper today.
I was looking for the obit today, but they haven't gotten it in yet.
In a completely unrelated tangent, I happened to notice a post from Swagerman while doing a search for something else this morning. I thought "I haven't seen anything from Jim in a while, I wonder what he's up to?" I checked his profile and found that he hadn't been on the site since 9-19...
I wrote him a quick "hope everything is okay" e-mail and went back to what I was doing.
When I did the search for my Aunt's obit later, there was an ad box to search for obit's nationwide, and in a very morbid moment, I searched for one for Jim - and found it.
James E. Evitts of Manitowish Waters, WI, died on September 25, 2008.
    He was 72 years young.

I called his home phone, but got no answer. When I talk to his family, I will convey the condolences of those here who knew him.

    Rest in Peace, Jim...

Jim will be missed. He was a good member here, with good input.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

I will miss him. His posts about the inn where the FBI shootouts happened in the 1930s were very interesting to me.

Anyone we lose diminishes the rest; but he left us a legacy of 1500+ good posts (his "yellowjacket trap" is priceless!); call him up on "Members / S / 19 / posts" and see for yourselves. Godspeed, ol' Swagerman!

What a shock! I was thinking of Jim while checking the forum the other night. I too wondered why he hadn't been on the board lately.

He and I did quite a bit of e-mailing and PM's. I did several lathe projects for him over the last couple of years. I just recently shot up some cast boolits he sent me to try, since we both own Taurus 441 .44 specials.

    He will be sorely missed!
