Heck , I can't find that member name in the member list anywhere, with any spelling.

I remember there was a fella that was ill & in the hospital & his wife came on in his name & said more about that, but I am not sure if it is the same person as I do not remember the name. I do know that the fella was from Texas though & I did not see a name in the member list that struck my memory as the right name either.

Likely a Moderator might know.

I think JonB in Glencoe, knows more about the member who was in the hospital so he might help out.

San Antonio. I've tried to PM him but it doesn't send. One of his old threads about .300 Savage loads was revived and that jarred my memory. His posts were historical and informative and praiseful of the Rem 760.

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, that was the name & the link is the topic I mentioned.

Kind of bums me out when that sort of thing happens & then no one know more.

I'm pretty sure that Texas Grunt has passed away. Another member, Burnt Fingers, posted about it. I have not seen anything about Texasnative. Hope he's ok.

Interesting. I just searched those 2 pages again of the member list with all the names that start with the word, "texas", & still do not see it. I even tried looking for "native" with no results...

P.S. - I did notice the word on his status is not to be envied... Perhaps that is why I do not see it as me being just a member without access to other info..


The answer to the Ops question on "why?"/ not heard anything" is there, though.

Oh, oh! Under his name on the membership page it says banned. Must have said something that upset someone. I remember him best for saying that he was an American Indian, and that a couple of his relatives had enlisted in the CSA during the Civil War, were captured and murdered in the prison camp because they were Indians. Sad that he's gone from the forum.

I couldn't recall his exact name, so I just typed "Texasnative" into the "google custom search" window and clicked on one of the first 4 results that he had appeared to have participated in, then clicked on his name on one of his posts to get his profile page.

With searches, sometimes less is more.
