    One more Time

No one cared about Kroger having Brisket for $1.99

So I will try one more time. Maybe we dont have any smokers here.

Kroger has Baby Back Ribs for $2.99

Maybe everyone is too busy making Burnt Ends to respond to your brisket thread?

In my case, it is because there is not a Kroger nearby. Pictures of YOUR smoked brisket would be nice. I can live vicariously through your efforts.

150 miles to the nearest one. I checked after your last topic about the deal.

Sadly, I am unable to enjoy it.

    Thanks though.

I didn't take photos. I will next time.
The wife and I were very pleased with it.
I separated the flat from the point.
The point stalled at 150 degrees took 2 extra hours to cook so it was a good thing there was 2 big pcs.

I started at 15lb 8oz took 5lb of fat off. Flat cooked to 203 took 8 hours and point took 10 hours to get to 203
I injected them both with beef broth.
I also wrapped in Foil at 165

I have 5 more briskets to cook

No Kroger here, but have Dillon's that have "sale" briskets every so often at $2.99.
I remember not long ago when brisket was actually a cheap cut.

What is the price a producer gets for his cow vs supermarket price for any cut now and 20or so yrs ago?
Can you say monopoly of packers?

I would like to say “Thank you” for your post. I didn’t know about their sale but I was able to take advantage of it because I saw your post. I’m wishing I saw your previous post about the brisket.

I like to smoke brisket, unfortunately the closest kroger to me is 72 miles away

I'm not a huge brisket fan, but I do buy them when there's a sale on. I pick out the fattest ones I can find, and grind those big fat beef briskets with deer 50/50 for burger! I remember not that long ago I could get them for 99 cents lb. Nearest Kroger is 45 miles, but Wall- Mart will price match them.

Thanks for the heads up ...I would take advantage of the sales but I'm in Baton Rouge , LA and the nearest Kroger is in McComb Mississippi... at least a two hour round trip drive drive .
The cost in gas eats up the savings .

I saw your brisket post and was excited as the local Smiths store is Kroger owned, but the brisket wasn't on sale here. Periodically they do have the ribs on sale for BOGO so I always get my rib fix when that happens. Pork loin is on sale a couple times a month for $1.49. The last one I bought got turned into Chili Verde.

Here we have Fred Meyer, owned by Kroger. They think brisket is worth $5 or $6 a pound, no thanks Freddy's.
I did see your post, thanks for the info. I would have if I could have.

no Kroger in the area but our local grocery store just had whole pork buts for 99 cents a lb. I bought a 100lbs. I love smoked brisket but you just don't see it in stores around here. To get it I have to ask the butcher.

I'd be very interested in both, but no krogers around here.
