Got a box in the mail today

Got a USPS box from a memeber here.
It's a good thing he packed it well.
The even taped up a hole on the side.
All got here, and no damage.

I have received several like that from USPS lately. I am surprised that the priority mail packages are the ones that look like they are abused. But the contents are okay, just the box looks bad. Last year I ordered a brass 3/8" brass rod to make a cleaning rod and they delivered an empty cardboard tube. I ordered another one and it was in the tube but looked like a curly noodle. Third time was a charm, it was okay.

They don't set heavy boxes down they drop them. If the box has room to collapse it will. If stuff in the box can move it will. I heavy item or pointy item sliding across a partially empty box may decide to exit the box. A little wood inside the box can really help reinforce it. Lot's of fiberglass and clear packing tape.

Tape, stretch wrap and hard foam is your friend if your sending heavy packages!
