Savage rascal: standard vs threaded version

Looking for real world comparisons ideally with kids shooting. I am leaning towards the threaded version as I think that will retain more usefulness in the long run. However, the main purpose of this is my daughters first rifle.

Next concern would be sights. I like the standard peep sights but those are not available on the threaded version as the suppressor would render them useless.

So standard with peep sights or threaded with a red dot?

Another option could be a 10/22 charger with pistol brace attached. Basically looking for a good kiddie gun that won’t be obsolete in a matter of months.
