That is too bad, lots bbq recipes use brown sugar

What does Brown Sugar do for ribs?
They stated the brown sugar would liquify / meltdown and make a molasses base on the rib. The brown sugar would draw the moisture out and penetrate the rib - adding more flavor.

So you never put BBQ sauce on your Brisket?

The point of the receipt was to use a cheaper cut of meat. Sorry, you missed that.
If you don't like an ingredient leave it out. Geez

Wow, now we're going to argue about BBQ.

My Moma always told me if you don't like something in a recipe leave it out.

    Folks must be really bored.

I don't have the patience to make that recipe but i would stand in line to eat some of it.

BBQ, cornbread and chili recipes will cause trouble on this forum.

make mine with brown sugar. I don't think I smoke any piece of meat with a rub on it that doesn't have a bit of brown sugar. No horse radish though. I want to actually taste the meat. I don't care for a sweet barbeque sauce though. I prefer a vinegar based sauce for pork or beef
