    lup,

I must confess that I have looked at your post a number of times but have been able to resist the urge to buy this barrel due to the cost of getting set up to reload for the cartridge and the amount of time it would require to make brass. I have plenty of once fired 30-30 brass from a Contender carbine and a Super 14 barrel but balk at the cost of dies and other stuff needed to form and reload the brass.

If have any suggestions regarding getting set up to form and reload the cartridge on the cheap let me know because I am interested.

It's a walk in the park to fireforem new brass from .30-30. The only thing you need are the dies.

725 is correct just need the full length 30 herrett dies and a case trimmer

Do the necks need to be reamed or turned?

Can cut to length with case trimmer (time consuming) mini chop saw (easy with a good guide) tubing cutter (simplest)

Then form and final trim with case trimmer.

As far as reaming, that depends on brass thickness, and chamber dimensions.

If you buy this I have 100 rounds made from 30-30 brass I will trade you for 9mm brass. They were loader for my contender but never shot these.

It’s not difficult at all using 30-30 brass as the parent.

I used to have one, and shouldn’t have sold it. These shoot great, and forming brass is very easy. Just run through the die, cut with tubing cutter, and then trim to final length. The only problem I see is the cost of the dies themselves, but I have seen some good deals on those too, so you can get them at a decent price if you’re not desperate and willing to find a decent deal instead of just jumping on the first ones you find.
I passed my last psych eval, how bout you?

    lup,

I have decided to pass on the barrel and just stick with my already paid for 30-30 barrel.

Sorry to take up your time.

Not a problem. Barrel is still available and looking for a new home.
