My brother has one, seemed to work OK when I used it, but that was40 years ago. I think it was called Mohawk 77? Not very common, like the Nylon 66.

My brother had a 10c I had to replace a part a long time ago and then it was traded off to a cousin , I ended up with it back some years ago it was in bad shape , missing magazine and some parts like the safety , cleaned it up and gave it to the local gun shop / gun repair so he could use it or repair someones if needed.

Got my 10c running like a Swiss watch.
Had to modify the magazine is bits.
But now it snaps in and locks tight.
I have two really nice 66s..
But I seem to be shooting this scruffy old 10c the most.

    Not always..
    I have a 66 I put a Gru-bee 4 power scope on it.. holding zero very well.
But then again.. I don't grip the forend like a gorrilla.
    Shoots very well.

I have a 10C that shoots really good. I have a scope on it, but I might take it off. I prefer open sights.

I'm late to the thread but I have an Apache 77, a Nylon 77 that was part of a limited run for K-Mart in the late 1980s. I bought it in 2013 with one magazine, then picked up four more from Remington. I had to modify all the new mags to work in the gun; they didn't allow rounds to rise high enough to be picked up by the bolt so I had to relieve the underside of the feed lips. What a PITA. The rifle shoots well, though, and is reliable.

The other rifle is a Remington 550-1 made in March 1948 according to the date code. It's my favorite self loading .22 rifle. Due to the Williams floating chamber it functions as a semiauto with shorts, longs, or long rifles. As long as it's clean and lubed, it even works with CCI .22 CB shorts.

If I was smarter when younger I would have bought and kept a bunch of 66's and 77's instead of trading them off. You always think they will be around for $ 50 forever.

Bought my first 550-1 back in the mid 50's and it's held a spot in my heart and mind ever since. Great shooter and love the floating chamber, I mix and match ammo a lot, mostly by accident though. mine has the code CXX which dates it to April 1951.
