I got a new Winchester on Friday. Well it's 108 years old, but it looks new.
It is a 1906 model, made in 1911. Takedown model, shoots shorts, long and long rifle.
It was refurbished about 20 years ago by a well known Minnesota gunsmith, and has sat in his son's gun safe since.
The guy I got it from decided to sell it, as he can't shoot irons anymore and has scopes on all his rifles.
The rifle was polished and hot blued, new wood with the early style non grooved fore end grip, a new magazine tube and barrel was relined.
It locks up tight and has a nice trigger.
These Winchester pumps are very compact, another great design by JMB.
I got it out Saturday morning and tried it out. Front sight was too low so I put a taller one on when I got home.
Barrel looks really long but is a touch under 20 inches.
These are really fun plinkers !
