I prefer my taters on the side. And lots of pepper in the gravy.

You know, there's an old saying, Miss Sally. There's no law west of the Dodge and no God west of the Pecos. Right, Mr. Chism? James Pepper

Wrong, Mr. Pepper. Because no matter where people go, sooner or later there's the law. And sooner or later they find God's already been there. John Simpson Chism

Tortilla chips covered with cheese and homemade tacos. Doesn't help my diet, but tastes good, just the same.

I have been working on my truck and while putting my tools away I noticed I still had venison in the spare freezer. Decided to start making some to make room for the upcoming season. So Monday, I made some venison strips, with a side of fried potatoes. I get a spice mix from a guy, I use it on a bunch of stuff, great flavor.

Then last night, had some curry, made enough to take some to work...none left. I wanted to add some celery but worked late and I didn't want to stop, so settled for potatoes, onions and carrots.

We eat chicken fried venison quite a bit. Down to the very last few pieces of venison in the freezer, haven't been this low in at least ten years. Fortunately, muzzle loader season starts in about two weeks.

Showing my ignorance here, does chicken fried deer mean you coat the meat in flour and drop it in a skillet of bubbling oil?

Yup, pound out a venison steak or use a cuber, season, seasoned flour, pan fry in 1/2 inch of oil or deep fry. Tasty stuff with pepper milk gravy!

This afternoon I took some colored peppers, ( not green bell peppers, i can't eat them ) chicken cutlets sliced thinly, some olive oil, ground Himalayan salt , some ground pepper and some Everglades seasoning and stir fried it over very low heat. I somehow managed to forget the chopped onions. It took a little while to cook that way, but I learned long ago that slower was better.
It was delicious! Afterwards Lori and I had a slice of Dutch Apple pie.
I'm currently suffering from waddleitis now!
