    WTS - Star Air Conversion

    Hi,

This is a air powered conversion I made that is the same as what I have been using for the past several years. It works great. If you have a lathe and some time, you can make one yourself and use the pictures as a guide. The only thing you will need to add is an air supply and a regulator. I have a cheap pancake compressor and the built in regulator works fine. I normally use a little heat in my Star and run the air pressure around 20lbs. If the lube is a little warm, lower the air pressure, a little colder, increase the pressure. Very little air is consumed, you are just using the pressure the air supplies. I normally disconnect the air hose from the quick change fitting when I am done. This removes all the pressure from the Star.

The bolt and wood piece are to remove the plunger from the bottom of the Star when the lube needs to be refilled. Simply screw the bolt in a few turns and pull out the plunger. It is only threaded on one side, so make sure you put it in with the threads up!

You don't need to modify your existing cap, plunger, or spring at all to use this. These parts completely replace them.

Price - $50 shipped. It takes a while to open up and thread the reservoir cap!

I am flexible on payment methods so it’s yours per the PM you sent. If anyone else wants one, I can make a couple more.

I see you have two o'rings on the piston. Did you try it with just one?

The original piston I made had two and it worked, so I never changed it. I have also never broke an O ring with this. They are set pretty deeply in the piston.

I didn’t mention it, but the silver metal parts are aluminum. Theres not much pressure on anything and only the o rings touch the cylinder.
