Ah, life is all about simple pleasures. Good find. I keep a collapsible magnetic mechanics bolt retrieval tool in the center console of my Jeep. When at traffic lights I scan the road and pickup worthy targets of opportunity within reach of my magnet. I also find a lot of tools.

OT - don't you just love finding free "Intersection Tools"?
If it was easy, anybody could do it.

I have a real nice Proto 10” adjustable wrench that was just laying in the gravel waiting for me to walk on by!

Like I said back in post #10, its gotten to be a game between me and a few friends. Last week we picked up a total of 53 lead weights and 1 lead anchor. The concrete type anchor that is. There were 2 Zinc weights and maybe 5 steel weights. Its amazing that the % of lead from street corners is higher than what I get at the tire shop!

I find a lot of empty plastic buckets along the road banks, found 1, 5 gallon yellow diesel can and 1, 5 gallon gas can with 1/2 full of gas. People are in a hurry and don’t tie down there stuff. I even lost a new Stihl weed eater on I-20, found it next trip smashed to bits only handle left. I tie everything down now.

I had a large pool chemical bucket that I had filled with rubber mulch for a bullet trap. Used it mostly for testing PC coating and used to recover some cast lead when I was shooting for group size. I finally put a few rounds through the sides and needed another large bucket. I found this one beside the road. After a couple of months looking for a replacement I spotted one beside the road again. I had passed it several times over a two day period but it was in a location that was less than favorable for stopping beside the road. I finally slowed down on a trip out and noted exactly where I could stop on the return trip and get completely off the road. Approaching that location on the return trip some thirty minutes later I slowed and looked for my planned stopping point. The problem was my bucket was gone. Best laid plans...

I jump out at red lights and grab them. SIL always says he’ll leave me if light turns green.

We have gone off and left each other at exit ramps or intersections and come back when we could turn around. One of my friends says he feels like a homeless guy, standing on the corner! I even had a homeless guy (panhandler) pick a weight up for me once! Didn't I say it had gotten to be a game to us?

LOL! I pick up spent bullets all the time at the range waiting for my turn to shoot. Over time it adds up.

Made my SIL go around the block to pick up a 6” one. He thought I saw something big. I did!

If you see older guys , wandering around parking lots , looking at the ground not at a cell phone...
    It's just a older boolit caster .

Years ago, a buddy worked for a bus company and gave me a wheel weight about the size of a banana.
He asked, "We have a bunch of these, can you use them".

I thought I'd found the holy grail of wheel weight sources.
