Need help identifying a High Standard magazine

    Hi all,

I was going through some boxes of old shooting stuff and came across a Hi-Standard (old spelling) .22 magazine. I've never owned one, so I'm not sure where it came from, but it's still in good shape, so I figured someone might want/need it. My problem is I don't know which model(s) it fits. I've tried all the normal research venues, including other forums, and I've not seen a magazine just like this. Most have have two rolled rear lips, but this one has an extended tab on the rear left. The lack of a catch notch indicates it's probably from a heel release model. I'm hoping someone might be able to tell me. Thanks, Ed

I'm not a expert on IDing HI-St mags. I am a expert on buying the wrong ones. I think you have a Supermatic series mag for 22shorts.

I think it is not for the dura-matic, that has the latch recess near the top on the left side. And the model B is much shorter and is closer to a right angle at the bottom plate, but it is heel release. So it is not for those two models.

    .

It looks like a Model 101 Olympic .22 Short magazine, but if LR cartridges fit, it most likely came from a Model A/HA/D.HD/GD.

    Gentlemen,
Thanks. A .22LR will not fit as the magazine is built up in the forward part of the magazine well, and the follower is just about 0.700". The OAL of the .22 Short is 0.695", so it make perfect sense this is a .22 Short magazine used in a heel release gun.

That is a good idea and at HI-Std mag prices more economical. Take it from someone who knows.
