for Ruger Redhawk
I can't stand the factory front sight color
but the sight itself is fine just the gawd awful color
anyone know where I could get a replacement or different insert
not to keen on the fiber optic

You can also replace just the insert to change colors.

My very favorite for an early Redhawk was the GBVR. Gold bead, vee rear. But my eyes were better then.

Might check with Fermin Garza (2dogs) on the Single Actions Forum, he makes some really nice front sights!

I have a few sets of the different colored inserts for a Redhawk. White, blue, yellow, & I'm sure another color I can't recall at the moment. If interested,, PM me.

This is what I ended up using. I painted the face with a base of white, and then florescent orange.
Before all the fancy sights were being made, we used to use fingernail polish. It comes in every color in the rainbow, and is tough as nails.
Hope this helps.

+1 That is what I still use. It is not just for fingernails.
BTW - you can still get some for a dollar at the Dollar store too.
Haha
Just bought a bottle of a kind of Bright White to replace another about a week ago to do some touching up. The missus was using it for her nails, so I bought her a bottle & took the one I use to touch up sights back from her. 2 of my carry pistols have white dots. I use Bright Red & Bright Orange as well for other firearms.
Clear is also good for touching up the wound eyelet fastening on fishing rods & some of the other colors work good for tying flys & touching up jig heads.
Sometimes I use it for "torque stripe" on nuts & bolts to indicate that a bolt/nut has been torqued and that it is still tight to specs.
Useful stuff.
G'Luck! though, on whatever ya decide!

Yep, I am another fingernail polish fan. Carried over from fly fishing and then other fishing lures. Great colors.
If you want clear then the Sally Hansen is the way to go.
Check at welding supply store for paint pens.

Before I traded my SRH 9.5” 44 Mag for a 7.5” 480 Ruger SRH it wore the One Ragged Hole rear peep (smaller appetite) and the Ruger front gold bead painted black with a laundry pen.
The combination is awesome and the current owner still has it set up that way.
With heavier bullets I ran out of rear sight adjustment and had my local gunsmith build me a couple of custom front sights and configure them as partridge sights (vertical on the back side, black and square topped).
Today my eyes do not work well with those sadly. I do not like colors though.
Too bad we gotta get old!

Went to a craft store and bought some florescent colors and white nail polish from dollar tree. A little acetone and q tips for cleaning and toothpicks for enhancing/changing dot colors makes a world of difference. The white nail polish is for adding color to black sights, going white first (nail polish dries fast) makes the lighter colors "pop"
If you want just white...try appliance paint. The appliance white is about $8 and holds up real well.
