    Antelope hunting rig for 2019

I'm going to give the 7mm Rem Mag a rest this season and do my hunting with this:

    15" barrel by Bellm.
.35 Remington-rimmed; run 30-40 Krag brass through a 35 Rem sizer and trim to length.
190 Ranch Dog bullet on top of a charge of IMR3031.
Still need to shoot it across a chrony, but on paper targets and 200 meter chickens it looks good.

Looks like a goat dropper to me! Patience will pay off, we've killed a few at less than 150 yards.

I shoot that RD bullet in my 18" barrelled bolt action rifle with a healthy charge of AA 2230, never killed a antelope but it sure smacks deer down nicely . Your slightly smaller framed lopes Don't stand a chance . Good luck on the hunt
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

That thing has to kick way worse than my 44 mag titanium nite guard with full throttle loads.

Your pistol should do the job. My rig is not so exotic; an old 1895 Win. in .30-40 pushing a 215 grain cast at 2300 fps.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many shooting experts is not that they're ignorant; its just that they know so much that isn't so.

    Actually, not even close.
Recoil is no more than my .44 Dan Wesson with the 6" barrel screwed on.
At least that is what it feels like to me.

I had a savage Stryker in 7-08 that would literally fly out fo my hand even with a brake. My andaconda 44 mag felt like a 22 mag compared to it. The Stryker was comparable to my 50 AE desert eagle in recoil. The note guard recoils more violent than either. You get use to it after a few boxes of ammo.

For antelope I'd've thought you'd go with a lighter projectile for more velocity and a flatter trajectory. Antelope have a slight build and thin skin. Can you get close to them in your part of the country?

I look forward to your results! I've been wanting an 18-20" carbine bbl in .35 Rem for a while now.
