Have a Rem RB model 5 smokeless model rebarreled to 30/40 krag. Have bullet molds to cast 115 to 220gr. bullets. Would like to try IMR 4831 , does anyone use this for their 30/40's

IMR4831 is way to slow burning.
The case capacity is too small to gain any advantage.

Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.

I'm sure this is for H4831(there was only one back then)- but the starting load should be ok for the 220gr on down. I used it for 180gr jacketed for the initial rounds loaded for my 1898 Krag project. They are mild. No sights yet so l have no accuracy report. No unburned powder. It's probably usable but not ideal as stated.

Was only looking fpr 1900 to 2000 fps with a low pressure, so those might work.
