FS - Handi Rifle 22 Hornet

As the title says, a Handi in 22 Hornet. SS barrel on a blued receiver. $427.50 to your FFL.

I have a couple of other Handi's that I'll probably list in the near future. One that I had converted from 300BO to 7.62 x 39 and the other a .223.

More info please. Does it have an ejector, extractor, drilled and tapped for rifle sights, twist rate, accuracy?? H&R hasn't made a stainless Hornet barrel in quite some time. How did it come about to be paired with that newer receiver? Did the barrel require modifocation to fit? Does it have at least 50% engagement of the latch shelf? How's the crown look? Does it have a fine thread forend screw or coarse thread. (I could tell myself if I saw a picture of the forend stud)

Sorry for all the questions. I'm very particular about my Handi rifles and have been burned on a few of my dozens of purchases.

    Thanks, Dinny

I'll get some more pics later today. BTW, noticed your avatar, I was a Navy Hosp Corpsman E-5 when I baled (1965~69).

To answer a question or two: The crown seems perfect, you can really see the star pattern after firing. This firearm has the ejector setup. As can be seen in the pics, the barrel HAS been bored/tapped for front and rear sights. I picked up the barrel at a gunsmiths and he fit it for this receiver. The receiver came to me at a gunshow. As far as accuracy, the gun seems to shoot well, at least for these 73 year old eyes. Problem I have is POOR optics, I can't seem to afford good scopes for all the long guns I have, that's why I'll be offering a couple more Handi's in the future. One is a heavy barrel .223 and the other is a converted 300 B.O. to a 7.62 x 39. Thanks for all the interest.

I'm 30 years younger but have served for 25 years so far. I'm sure the Navy kept you busy considering the years you served.

How long is the Hornet barrel?

    Thanks, Dinny

Sorry, I was hoping for a 20" barrel with the lighter contour.

    Thanks, Dinny
