Seeking Advice - Mold for 32 S&W Long

OK all of you enablers - Here's your chance

I got out of the 32 S&W Long & 32 H&R Mag game many years ago. A friend just inherited a S&W model 30 and I got that itch.

Back when I was playing with the 32 caliber revolvers I wasn't casting and I purchased my bullets. I liked the 100 grain full wadcutter but I also used some other types as well.

What would be a good mold for 32 S&W Long, with about a 100 grain bullet and maybe do double duty for a 32 H&R magnum ?

Saeco makes the 325/326 SWC, FR or BB. I've loaded lots of the 325 FB over the years in the .32S&W Long and .32H&R.

N.O.E. & Accurate and Arsenal are all excellent choices for Heavier bullet molds. And don't forget the RCBS 98gr WC mold, it's a top choice.
If you want a RN, Lyman makes one that would work for both, Saeco Makes a Beatiful WC & RN too. And Lee makes 3-4 bullets that would serve.

    Go through the Websites.
    I have 4 .32cal Bullet Molds. The Saeco 325-100gr SWC 2cav, Lyman #311252-75gr RN, RCBS #32-98-WC(?) 2cav. And a Lee #311-93-RN 6cav.
    I HATE auto-correct

Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.

My Experience and My Opinion, are just that, Mine.

The following are my favorites for the 32 S&W long :

NOE 315-118-SWC PB (general use) *
Noe 315-90-WC PB (target ) ** my favorite for target loads

    RCBS 32-98-SWC (general use)
    RCBS 32-98-WC (target) **

    Redding / Saeco #326 - 100 grain SWC PB (general use) *

    * these two meet your criteria for 100 grain boolits and would do fine .

** These two wadcutter moulds are great for light target paper punching loads

I really like RCBS molds, just wish they had more than 2 cavities.

However, for the price difference, RCBS may be the best bet.

Take a look at NOE the Swede has an RCBS 32-98 SWC clone that is the bee’s knees.
I have a 5 cavity that rocks- mucho boolits, poco tiempo. They shoot great in your 32-20’s also.

I like the Ideal / Lyman 3118, The new ones use 311008 as the number. Mine drop at about 112g and work well in my S&W 32's. I do not have a H&R.

I'd like to keep the weight close 100 grains and I'm leaning towards a full WC.

I like the RCBS 32-098 SWC. Shoots great through both my S&W Models 30 and 31. It also does well out of my SP101 in .32 Mag.
I have had good results with the NOE 315-90 WC as well.

This is also a really good bullet as well. Drops at 115gr. And is a brass single cavity no name mold. I lube one groove for pistols and 2 grooves for rifles and size at .314.

They do great in my SP101 and my 2 HE Smith .32s prefer this over the lighter 90-100gr bullets for accuracy.

Do you recommend the SWC 325 over the WC 323 ?

Yes, because deep seating the full WC runs pressure up, and seating it out you must size the bullet smaller to enter the cylinder throats. The #325 and #326 have a large meplat which lets the air out of Bunny Wabbits and the like just fine, they are accurate and the molds cast large enough in diameter to fill the cylinder throats of the older S&W revolvers, which need .315"

This was 2 cylinders of .32mag (SP101) at around 7-10y standing. It is a Unique load with the 115gr bullet I mentioned earlier. All double action.

Saeco 325 SWCFB was my favorite bullet in my Colt 6" Police Positive in .32S&W Long.
It worked just as well in Ruger's SSM 5 1/2" .32H&R Mag for heavy loads.

I have several different molds for the 32 S&W and magnum calibers, anything from RN to WC to SWC. After many trips to the range and numerous test rounds on targets, I am totally sold on the Saeco 325 boolit. For whatever reason this one profile give me the tightest groups out of all the 32 molds I have on hand. Pricey, yes, even if used, but buying one of these molds will serve all your needs in these cartridges.
