    Bore/Can Alignment

Got 2 suppressors (Griffin Resistance 9 & YHM Phantom LT) out of NFA jail recently.
Reading their respective manuals, both say gunsmith required to align muzzle bore & suppressor.
These are my 1st 2 cans but haven't heard of needing a gunsmith to check alignment. I know that thread imperfections may skew alignment but was thinking an aptly sized wooden dowel or similar can easily detect alignment issues on top of visual check of barrel (out of the gun) with can installed.
To our suppressor gurus out there, please chime in.
    Thanks
    Sig

A piece of STRAIGHT brass/aluminum dowel a bit longer than can, turn to a snug bore diameter on one end a couple inches. Baffle strikes can get expensive really quick!
