    Lee Liquid Alox Bullet Lube

I was told at the local gunshop to use Lee Liquid Alox to lube conical bullets for a Ruger Old Army. Will this work?

    Odette:

I have used LLA to lube conicals in my ROA revolver when using Triple seven or Blackhorn 209 "substitute" powders with reasonable success. When using real black powder, LLA does not work as well as one of the black powder lubes like SPG or 50/50 bee's wax-crisco (or lard) The greasy stuff keeps the black powder fouling soft and allows for accurate shooting after multiple shots.
