Barrel cleaning: Jacketed vs. Hi Tek.

Patches to the left: 300 WM deep clean after 50 jacketed (168 SMK) rounds. Cleaning took all day.

Patches to the right: Marlin 1895 deep clean after 100 Hi Tek coated rounds,325 RCBS .04595 @ 1900 fps BHN 16. Three coats TMG Gold and Candy Apple Red.Cleaning took 45 minutes.

Neither of the cleanings was really needed, accuracy and function were fine. I just like to follow what's going on in a barrel. I like clean guns but I don't like cleaning that much.

A five minutes soak between patches is good with Bore Tech Eliminator.

BLL some jacketed and shoot them first. No cleaning needed.

I’ve had great success with Strike Hold CLP. Just spritz some down the pipe, let soak for a few minutes and three patches later, it’s mirror clean.

I used to think Forrest foam removes all copper.

Bore Tech Eliminator finds tons of copper from "clean" barrels, you may want to try... or may not.

Thanks for the suggestion Pet. I don’t shoot jacketed but if I do, I’ll give it a try.
    Thx...
