My 45CB is a 24"ER. I shoot LEE250RF at .453. Loaded with Unique, it'll break clays at 110 yards in a monotonous fashion. I have taken turkeys, a bobcat whitetail and axis with it. I changed the sights from the original. It is my favorite levergun.

That works! Nice! Tell me about those Bisley grips? Are they more comfy then the regular round TG grips? I have thought frequently about getting a super with the Bisley grips but have not done so thus far.

The 45 Colt has to be my fav round. I like your Remlin too.

I got those grips from Bear Paw grips. He is an ebay seller. They are spalted black line curly maple. His claim to fame is that his grips are a little thicker on the top, and thinner on the bottom. They fit my hands great. YMMV.
I have an update on the remlin. I got a skinner rear peep sight for it, and that helps me out tremendously. I tried .454 and .452 sized bullets. It shoots them the same. The best load I have found is a noe 280wfn over 8.5gns of unique. At 25yds it shoots one hole groups. This is the same load that performs best in my blackhawk also. I need to get it to the 50 and 100yd range next. I am very happy with it.

Your new Marlin has really exceptional wood for one of those guns. I would highly recommend refinishing the wood to get the "Marshield finish" off it, and do either a nice oil finish or I have recently switched to Min Wax Helmsman Polyurethane Spray which is so easy to do it is criminal. It also looks better and will last longer and protect the wood better.

Your wood is too nice to leave the way it is. Here's a pic of my 1894 CB 24" that I redid about 10 years ago. Oil finish took two weeks to execute. Before you could hardly see any of the grain and none of the Fiddleback.

Also see the before and after of the A5 stock I did with the Miniwax spray. 8 coats in less than two days. The last pic is my 1940 Ithaca M37 that a friend did with the Minwax. It's how I found out about it. Looks pretty nice in the pics,,, and better in person!

You are sitting on some real nice wood. I'd even volunteer to do it for you as it would be a fun project.
