    7.65 X 53 with 123gr bullets load data

    Anyone tried loading this????
Normally I shoot cast, but trying to help a guy at the range with his 1909 long rifle.
He just want's to shoot it. No hunting.
He's running out of old surplus ammo.
Lighter bullets would make for less recoil.
    Cheaper bullets, less powder.

I would stick with the cast.

Try different diameters. As a rule I like fat boolits too but some Barrels feel differently.

It wouldn't hurt to try but the 123gr jacketed bullets will be .310" which may be small for the purpose. Cast is the best option but PPU ammo is available for reasonable cost.

I've shot a gob of pulldown AK/SKS bullets over 14 gr Unique in my 7.65 Argies. Run 1825 fps out of 24" barrel with good accuracy and little recoil.

I occasionally shoot Berry plated bullets (123 grain) in my 1909. I use 12.8 grains of HP-38 and get 1810 fps out of my 1909 carbine. They are not the most accurate thing in the world (about 1" groups at 50 yards on a good day) but they are fun for plinking.
