I have seen three of these stocks.
The first one I had I bedded the stock and broke it trying to get the barrel back out of the stock. This was it with my Cabelas Hawken furniture.
After that one broke I decided to get another one and actually got two more. I got them for a steal, probably because they break.
I fell off a ladder last January and I have had some time off. So I decided to fill the buttstock with a two part epoxy that is used to glue quarter panels on cars at auto body shops.
I left a couple inches so I could install a block of wood to screw the buttplate to .
So I mixed up some Devcon and poured it in. Then added the wood block and topped it off with more devcon.
I re drilled the pad to match my wood block and then I drilled the wood block. Then I wrapped the stock with masking tape to protect the stock.
I think I will probably paint the stock with something that will make it look like the tan with webbing like the Bell and Carlson stocks. But this is it for now. I plan to leave my Hawken with the wood stock but if it breaks I want to have a couple of options.
