    S&W Model 10-5 6"

I was weak at the local show yesterday and it found a new home. Walked by and seen it on a table of many used, for some reason it stuck out. Finish left side like new to damaged on right side of frame around window and trigger guard, spots on right side of barrel, a little spotty orange on trigger/hammer. Frame finish does not look like rust damage, opaque grape Kool-Aid look through to the steel. Chemical reaction to just this side of pitting, console piece with a 32 oz. Coke spilled on it, someones departure piece, who knows. Talked him into removing cable and tie from bore and went to feeling and looking. I don't think this thing has had a box through it, clean shiny mint bore and cylinder, felt smooth, tight and right. $250 out the door and he had me, because I NEED another one, huhuum. Get her home and a quick pin run, throats are a really tight .358" and even. The one little stinker is it has about .0015" thread choke, no biggie, we've been to that barbecue. Clean that up and go get it hot, then decision of leave it alone, blue or phosphate. Something about those K frames.

These things happen. Some times you see an orphan that just tugs at your heart and you just can't help but give it a home.

We'd love to see it. $250 is cheap for even a blemished Smith.

    I have a weakness for the K-frame Smith's.

The blemished ones are sometimes well worth the time to look at. Occasionally you will come across one with finish damage from neglect but almost no use.

Jtram - I'm very jealous of the snubnose Model 66 - everything the model 19 was AND stainless !

Tell me about it. This is my fourth M-66 for a total of nine K-frames in the safe (well eight, ones my EDC.)
