    I can never remember which is which, is the back where the stock screws in solid (weaker) or webbed (stronger).

    Solid is weak, shotgun frame or SB1..... Webbed is strong, rifle frame or SB2.

    My SB2 is strong 30-06/45/70 ect/ thanks Ed

    Interesting you relate the stronger SB2 with 45-70. Pre-SB cast iron frames were made and had 45-70 barrels attached at the factory. The 45-70 barrel are fine on any SB1 or SB2 frame due to the low pressure cartridge with a large case head that spreads the rear thrust pressure along a larger area.

    85 bucks is a good deal for an sb2. I am gone this week but I will check with my ffl when I get back, pretty sure he can accept from private party...
