    Ugliest pistol in the world

Ram-Line Exactor: Anyone else have one of these?

I've been tinkering with it lately, trying to get it to function well. Just when I think it's working right, and it goes through a couple 20 round magazines full without a hiccup, it will choke a couple times on one magazine. It does seem to run very well on CCI Mini-Mags, so there's that. It is surprisingly accurate.

Maybe it's just the nature of the beast. It is mostly plastic after all. I'm sure a lot of you guys remember Ram-Line magazines and how finicky they were.

My 13yo son loves it. It's a light, easy shooting, accurate .22lr that holds "lots of bullets".

Added: Apparently there were different versions of this gun; one with a more traditional textured grip, and the other with a goofy '50s Sci-Fi look to it. I have the latter, hence the "Ugliest Pistol" comment.

    Handsome little thing ain't it.

Put it in a search engine and dozens of pictures come up.
There is so many versions, you'd think no two were alike.

I had a Ramline magazine for a Ruger .22 pistol and a Marlin Papoose. Both were flawless in operation and the tape measure type spring made them easy to load. I remember those ugly pistols but I never held one.

Yeah, I think that one's worse than mine, but at least it has a more normal grip. I don't know what they were thinking when they designed the grip on this one:

Never knew Asperly was into pistol design.

I will throw the Charter Arms Explorer II into the ring. I bought it just because I did not think I would ever have the opportunity to buy an uglier handgun. I think it resembles a cross between a Broomhandle Mauser and a plumbers parts box.

I also have an old Ramline mag for Ruger Mk. If I recall correctly, it holds 12 rounds and has a very unique "coiling" spring which actually pulls the follower from the top, instead of pushing from behind. Also in my "unique stuff" box is a Ramline 10-22 barrel. It is molded plastic, with a very thin steel liner. Would guess it weighs less than 8 ounces.

I got a chance to handle, but not shoot one of these over the weekend. I have to agree about the ugly. The picture actually makes it look better than it does in person.

That red and silver piece of drek that is a so called Ruger 22/45 (I think, I can't stand to look at it long enough to really tell) of one sort or another advertised in the Firearms News.
