    Slop in trigger of 94.

I have been doing some sight changing on my recently purchased used 94,and while doing so I noticed the trigger has a lot of dead slack. It seems to work just fine, but it is pretty sloppy. As long as it's safe I can deal with it,but is this normal?

My pre 64 is the same and it does seem strange, but it doesn't seem to matter...

Yep, that's the way they are. Only notice it if I am shooting downhill.

I noticed it the first time Dad let me shoot his 94 when I was a kid. I asked if it was broke.
"Nope", he said. It gives my itchy trigger finger something to do until I spot game.

It's normal, as the trigger was designed to float so that the trigger safety plunger (actuated via closing the lever) would positively engage/block the trigger.

My ae is the same ,like to take up the slack and then a bit more pressure and bang, makes you concentrate.

Thanks.I really like the gun,and have enjoyed learning about it,as I tinker with it.I am probably one of the few people that never had a 94 before.

Nope...I just got mine 2 years ago....I've been hunting/shooting since I was 10...so that's....46 years now...and I didn't really care much until about 5 years ago. I then got the itch to fill the 30-30 need in my little collection. It was just last year I bought my 35 Rem Marlin 336....and I've wanted one of those since I was 16....sometimes I'm just late to the party too.

94's are neat trim deer hunting package.

I hear down in Texas, after rattling in a big ole buck, you can tickle the trigger just so and get em in real close.
