Making a 'Stand Up' threading insert holder

...........I got a bunch of stand up inserts so decided to make a bit holder:

The stock is simple 5/8" keystock.

It was a simple and enjoyable project.

Gave me a chance to use a rotary base vice, that weighs about 1/10th of the rotary table!

Nothing real flashy, and just used what I already had on hand.

Looks great. Why did you put the tool bit on the right side of the tool? I would have expected the left so you could thread closer to the chuck.

John.k, try A.W Warner is where I got my threading kit. Should be able to fix you up with just about any threading bit/inserts you want. HSS or Carbide. Try google to find them. Youtube has some videos put out by Viper who has passed away so don't know if they are still on the tube. Frank

Good for cutting left hand threads. Maybe make it to cut on left and right side. You do good work.

Guess I could have, but wasn't even thinking of that at the time. If I get "The Burn" to make some chips I'll just lay one out on the left side too!
