Looking for Ruger 10-22 Magazine Problem Solving

Can someone point me to a thread? I am sure there is one, but my search skills are failing. I have a new 10-22 with one mag that won’t feed; two others work fine.

Pull the mag down and clean and lubricate it with dry graphite. She will likely run after that.

I have found that frequently new magazines have too much spring pressure. This shows up with standard velocity ammo most often, first few rpunds hit the top of the chamber. When I set up my magazines I put( from memory, been a while) 1.5 turns of preload. I rarely shoot hi velocity but have seen no ill effects with them and much more reliable witb subsonics.

I recall once at our general store about 30 years back when we got a 10 count box of new Ruger 10/22 magazines that over half would not feed. Williams Gun Sight, where we purchased the box exchanged that box for another 10 count box of new magazines, I believe there were 5 in that box that were the sane way. Finally a call to Ruger took care of the problem. Seems they were experiencing some problems in the winding spring operation. They said to send back any problem magazines for replacement. Over the years I have taken apart my personal magazines and cleaned and re wound the feed spring only several times.Robert

Fellas; thanks for the information. I will clean/lube the mag and then call Roger if the problem persists.
