    Gosh, that's a big hamburger

Reading about food and all these recipes makes me hungry.
In our local electric co-op magazine this month,
they had a article about some of the food places here in Texas and their house specials.

One guy caters special events and makes a 8 foot diameter pizza that feeds up to 150 people.
There's a beer joint that offers a 72 ounce steak & all the fix'ns--- baked potato, salad, and a dinner roll.
Another place that serves a 20 scoop ice cream sundae.

One place offers a bacon & cheese burger for $25 that's about 10 inches tall.
They must make their own buns too. They'd need to be about a foot in diameter.
It has one & a half pounds of beef, one pound of bacon, a half pound of cheese, and a big pile of rabbit food on it too.

Hmm,,, That sounds pretty good, I might make a couple of those myself.
-Maybe leave off the rabbit food part though.

In Abbeyville Louisiana I have witnessed the preparation of a 5,000 egg omelet , cooked in a 12 foot diameter skillet .
This year they are going to cook 5,035 eggs , it's the 35th year they have been doing this , besides the 5,035 eggs the remaining ingredients will be :
    50 lbs. chopped onion
    75 chopped bell pepper
    4 gal. green onion tops
    2 gal. chopped parsley
    1 1/2 gal. cooking oil
    6 1/2 gal. milk
    52 pounds butter
    3 boxes salt
    2 boxes black pepper
    15 pounds crawfish tails
Tabasco Sauce to taste ...150 bottles + will be on hand .

They also fix a childrens omlet with only 600 + 35 eggs .

If you would like to see this , it is free and you get all the omelet you can eat , just search Giant Omlet Festival , Abbeyville , La. for dates and times .
Abbeyville is the place Steen's Syrup is made . Neat place to visit.

I'm a big ol' boy but an 8 ounce burger and a side of fries and I'm done. There is a place a couple towns over that has a deal for $60 you get one hour to eat one pound each of BBQ pork, chicken, beef and a pound of fries and baked beans, if you do it the meal is free and you get a shirt that say "I ate the plate" and your picture on the wall of fame. Two friends of mine are eating machines and they failed, we tease the one guy that the 2 for $22 meals at Denny's isn't a challenge.
