Need to know if 43 grains of H335 with a lee ctl312-160-2R size to
309 with a col of 3.150 is a viable load. Is it to hot of a load and if so what charge of H335 is recommended?

H335 isn't recommended in the .30-'06. It does not respond favorably to excess free airspace in the case, even when attempting full-charge jacketed loads. I've seen ringed chambers when loading 50 grains of the stuff with 150-grain jacketed bullets in the '06. I sure would not try it with reduced loads. No ball rifle powder is suitable for reduced charges in my opinion.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am looking for a load using the boolit referenced above to push it at around 2300 fps. Would 4064 or reloaded 15 be a better powder to use. The boolits are powder coated
Yes, I use 40 grs. of IMR4064 with a 160-grain cast bullet in my Garand for about 2200 fps. 4895, RL15 or Varget also good.

4198 is your friend if you want to down load the 06 or 308.
