    Marlin 1894S 44-40, what boolits???

Marlin 1894S in 44-40, Micro groove, .431 bore.

Our Lyman 427098 drops at .428, wheel weights, too small.
My Lyman 429421 drops at .431, this one feeds right through my 1894S in 44mag and is accurate in that rifle.
Made a few dummy rounds with the 429421 for the 44-40, they actually cycle fine through the action but you must coax them into the chamber with the lever as they seem to catch on the top? of the chamber, once started they go right in.

Factory ammo cycles right through it but again bullets are .427-.428.

Not certain I want to buy another mold or just get some from a boolit supplier?
    Probably 200grn + ??
I like the NOE designs, the Lyman 427666, but hear the molds are hit and miss for diameters dropped.
Not much for Lee molds, me and aluminum molds do not work well together!

Just wondering what options and designs, boolit wise are out there?
Rifle will be used for 100 meter silhouette shoots.

Take a look at Arsenal's 432-210 its what I use in my win 92 src and rem 1 1/2 rolling block. They come out of them mold at .432" for me but I size them to .428" for my rifles.

Both of my Marlin 1894S rifles in .44-40 and .44 Magnum are .430" groove diameter and I use the Accurate 43-230G bullet in both, cast from Roto Metals 1:30 tin-lead and sized .430"

You might give Bear Creek Supply a call at 209-874-4322 out in CA. They sell poly/moly coated boolits and offer a range of .44 weights and diameters. I ordered .380 for my .38-55 and all mike at .380 and are +/- 1.5 grains in weight. Their prices were reasonable for me. The owner was polite and knowledgeable on the phone. Let the phone ring if you need to as he says his shop can get noisy. GF

I like the Lee 200 RF, but it usually make a pretty small diameter boolit. GF
