Lots of T shirts. Could only get about a couple of pounds filtered like you found. I had a big bag of them I collected over the years that had frayed collars. Don't have so many now.

Me neither but they do. lol

Restaurant supply for fry oil strainer. paint strainer for final strain. start with wax at 175 degrees to strain. It will seal the strainer if it gets too cool. First melt start it in tee shirt and weight to keep it under the water this will ketch the large stuff.

The best way to filter is get some paint filters from an auto paint store for filtering the paint. Works wonders for filtering bees wax. The filters from a house paint store are too coarse.

I like the wax with bits of legs and poop and honey smell to it.
I just melt it with water and scrape off the bottom.
I believe it still has some bee glue and other goodies in it.
Local wax is the best because it won’t melt in your summer heat.

I think if you boil it and make it that white pure look you loose some of the good stuff

    PLEASE READ THIS

Stop PMing me offers of beeswax!

Honestly I've been a member of a lot of forums. I've been a member of car forums, many gun forums, and quite a few hobby forums. But I've never come across a single forum that comes within a fraction of the kindness and willingness to help each other that this site offers. This is truly a unique and amazing set of people, and that is meant in the best way possible.

With that said I bought some beeswax off Amazon for $9.99 shipped. Not that I didn't really appreciate ever offer here but I'm on a very tight time window to go to the range and the prime shipping has it to me tomorrow for no extra fee. Shipping and making it worth the while of members here, while so kind to offer, wouldn't be worth it to you after spending the time going to the post office to ship it to me.

Thank you everyone! I'm sure I will be asking how to mix this stuff in a couple days!

I buy it from local Bee Company , I get the cleaned stuff .... melting and straining is messy .
I would just as soon let them do that .

$14.99/lb but use their perpetual 40% off coupon and get it for $8.99 + tax. Pure clean pellets. No nauseating smell when trying to clean up honeycomb cuttings or dealing with filtering insect parts out of them.

I have never had beeswax with a bad smell. Makes me wonder if something is wrong with it. I prefer to get the fresher stuff that still smells like honey. A few wings and legs just add to the adventure, and sure never hurt my Blackpower lubes.

I bought my bees wax from Randy Rat. Good guy with fair price and great product.
