When I rebored one of my 600 Remingtons to .358 Winchester I opted to try a Boyds Thumbhole Laminate stock in pepper grey. I've decided that I really like the thumbhole design ...

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't reached my "Expiry" date!

My idea of the perfect Squirrel rifle patterned after the C.S. Landis report from .22 Caliber Rifle Shooting pages 382-389.
Donor Rifle was a Winchester model 52C. with Lilja barrel fitted and chambered by Gordy Gritters.

Started with a Winchester 52 target rifle, already had a 28" untapered Hubalek barrel on it. Cut to 24" and contoured by Ross Billingsley, stock by Lowell Manley in Claro walnut.

Leupold 4X rimfire special scope in Warne double lever rings. Backup Lyman 48 has a filler blank installed, elevation slide in the buttplate trap.

Rear of receiver was contoured and trigger extended rearward to alleviate the "humpbacked" look common to sporterized 52's, and 2-panel checkered bolt handle added.
