    Leupold M8-4X Rimfire special Scope - Brand New Old Stock - never mounted - perfect

    Sold

    I have a beautiful, virtually perfect condition, never mounted Leupold M8 - 4X RF special (rimfire special) scope with a parallax focus at 75 yards. It is clear as a bell and wonderfully made. This is not a common scope to find, much less to find one never even used or mounted without a mark on it, and built with the old world Leupold Quality and value.

    Here is the info on the current Leupold offering: https://www.leupold.com/scopes/rimfi...rimfire-4x28mm

    A four x scope is a great option for just about any caliber and this one would be a definate plus for .22, I would be all over this if I didn't have an over abundance of scopes!

    OK,

    I appreciate the good info posted above, I have to decide whether or not to upgrade my 22H glass!

    Thanks, Mac

    Thanks to all for the help on this! I had a long, tough day today, and without much signal at all to even try and look at the forum until now.

    As Dale2242 said, the M8’s haven’t been available new for quite a long time now. I agree with him also that the M8’s are excellent quality. I think the glass on this one is better than the VX-III series new scopes by far. I turned a newer VX-III With a much larger objective and set to 4X, and this older M8 rimfire Special was truly brighter and sharper.

    If I could find and afford a sweet CZ 452 full stock with gorgeous wood, I would already have installed it on one. Money being tight and bills always need to be paid means that I can only do so much at this stage in life.

    Found this on another forum from a quick search if it helps others.
    There seems to be different versions of the M8, someone posted a 33mm lens? Info below was posted as M8x4x

    To the OP, Leadlubber, you might want to confirm 28mm lens ?

    These are from a 1985 catalog if that helps.

    unrestricted Obj. lens diam = 28mm(1.1")
    unrestricted eye lens diam = 36mm(1.4")
    Objective O.D. diam = 36mm(1.4")
    Eyepiece O.D. diam = 41mm(1.6")
    Tube diam = 25mm(1")
    Length = 290mm(11.4")
    Weight = 241grams(8.5oz)
    Eye relief =11.2 mm(4.4”)

    Google is your friend (sometimes)!

    Greetings Gents!

    I just got home from work, being out of town for the last two days.

    Here are the measurements I just took with my digital calipers.

    Unrestricted Objective Lens I.D. = 28.15mm
    Unrestricted eyepiece Lens I.D. = 29.2 mm

    Objective O.D. Outer tube = 34.81mm
    Eyepiece O.D. Outer tube = 34.73mm

    Tube diameter = 25.38mm (1”)

    Weight = 7.25 oz
    Length =232.37mm or 9.15 inches

    Eye relief range = 3.25 to 4.7 inches (best guess measurement from my eye)
