Mould nomenclature instead of product number (?) please?

Would not be my first choice for the carbine. You may get a load to cycle, but it would probably lead the bore in loads which would cycle the action.

    I prefer Accurate 31-120TG

I would try casting your Lee bullet from 14-16 BHN alloy such as TaraCorp Magnum, size to .310" diameter using a good quality lube, and it should cycle your carbine with 14 grains of either IMR- or H4227. If you have a smooth barrel leading probably will not be an issue. I would try that and see how it flies for you before investing in another mold. You may very well get lucky.

I don't own that mold... yet. I wish lee made their 120 grain bullet in a six cavity mold. I was hoping someone had experience with this mold. I may plunk down the 39 bucks just so I can check it out and report. Seems like some folks use Carbines with plain based bullets and some don't.

    Thanks for the responses.

The C309113F has been great in my(wife’s) Howa M1 sporter. I’ve heard others have had feed problems with this flat nose but not here. Personally I feel that the carbine is “balanced” for a +- 110 gr bullet @ +- 2000 FPS. And that’s where my loads stay.

Sorry, have not tried that bullet either. Years ago I tried a similar PB'd bullet of 100 gr along with the PB'd 311410. I found neither gave the accuracy my M1 Carbine was capable of with any load that would function the action reliably. The Heavier (120 gr) 311401 gave "blasting" accuracy with H4227 and that's about the best I can say for it. When I went to GC'd cast bullets of 105 -118 gr I got the accuracy, velocity and reliable functioning my M1 Carbine was capable of.

Works fabulously in my Saginaw S.G.
However, I’m powder coating and sizing to .311”.
Loading it over 11.7gr of #2400. Most accurate load in my rifle. Not saying much, however.
Rifle shoots “patterns”, not groups. Cast bullet load shoots 4-5” at 50yds. At 100yds, mostly Soccer ball size groups. Most jacketed bullets shoot groups half again larger.

But, the cast bullet loads are cheap and fun. Cycles 100%. The 6-cavity molds “rain” bullets.
Fired brass is tossed over my right shoulder instead of thrown 10’ forward to right.

There are SEVERAL molds I wish Lee would make 6-bangers for!

I have never used that Lee boolit in my Saginaw carbine but I used a similar boolit from Lyman a 311227 90 gr. That was my first mold for my carbine and I cast all of my boolits from Linotype metal. They weighed about 87 grains and shot just OK. I did kill the biggest deer I have ever shot with that carbine and the 311227 many years ago.
