    Average Rockwell C scale hardness of Springfield 03 & 03 A3 rifles?

    Hi Fellows,

    I have access to three receivers two are WW-1 #over 1,000,000 & a 03 A3.
The owner has no idea of their history, they were on a high shelf in the basement of his house.
Before I try to rebuild or sell them, I want to make sure they were not damaged in a fire that burned the garage years before he bought the home.
What would be a average hardness # to look for.
I checked one, it was 39 C scale. My ability to find things on the net is poor!

Thanks for any help. or source info,

post #17 is the most informative. If you are selling I may be interested.
