    10MM Loads

Does anyone have a good accurate 10MM load they would like to share? I'm looking for a nice shooting accurate load, not a sledge hammer , will be shooting an S&W 610 revolver. I have a broad array of powders , was looking at a bullet weights of 180 to 200 grains. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

I like 5.5 grains of sport pistol for target loads behind a 180 grain. Boolit.

I have a Ruger GP-100 and am running:

    180 cast round nose
    6.0 grains of Unique

Have not clocked it yet but very accurate....

10gr Blue Dot with 180gr TC. Works in all my 10mm. This chronographs around 1200fps in a 5” barrel.

+1 on the BlueDot. My SR1911 likes the 11.0gr load with 180gr RNFPs. Accurate, stout, but not sledgehammer hot. 9.5gr BD for 200 grainers, both XTPs and WFNGC hardcast. I go with Longshot if I want HOT loads with plenty of velocity.

I am shooting a custom Ruger revolver in 10x25mm Rimmed, necked down Starline .44 Russian brass, capacity a bit more than the 10mm Auto. I load Accurate 40-252H with 16 grains of IMR4227 compressed. Velocity 1080 fps. in 5" revolver barrel, 1330 fps in 22" carbine.

In 10mm Auto case shooting in the Ruger you cannot get enough 4227 into the case to get into trouble with a 250-grain bullet seated out to fit the cylinder.
And with a revolver you aren't limited to little, lightweight "toy" boolits.

I shot 180 or 185 gr jacketed hollow points with a max charge of 2400. Deadly accurate in my Glock.

    Yes I agree!!!

I just picked up some 220g HP bulelts to try. From GT bullets. I know that theya re soft but at this weight I dont expect more then 1200 fps and at that velocity there “hardness” should preform well enough.

BUT finding starting data is not east as even tho its only a lil heavy most stop at 200 g

5.6 grains Unique behind a Lyman 175 TC generates about 950 fps out of my Delta Elite. Shoots a 2-1/2" group at 25 yds for me.

7.5 gains AA#5 shoots slightly better but I don't have any velocity data for that load.

Holy cow, that big revolver looks like a 22 in that photo. You must have hands like a giant! No wonder you had it chambered in a cartridge with extra recoil.

180 gr xtp with 10.2 gr IMR 800x in Sig cases
200gr GC bullet Montana bullet with 10 gr IMR 800x = handfull but most effective when penetration is required
