I have been gifted some .45 Colt cast wad-cutter bullets, and the cup-shaped seater on my Redding die cuts and distorts the bullet's top. I've "made" seating die mods in past using hot glue, but the Redding die's looked kind of deep -- I was trepidatious re using it for fear in its removal. I rang Redding, getting a very nice gent named Ray on line, who told me something I didn't know. To wit, "hot glue and hot water don't like each other", were almost his words. He is in concert with my filling the deep cup with hot glue, and assured me is all I need to do to remove it is run the seating stem under hot tap water, and it will come right out.
So impressed I am with this tip, I thought I'd pass it on. In past, my half-dozen or so hot-glue made stems for both reloading dies and Lyman 450's have been "keepers" -- NOW, it's nice to know I can save time and money by using the hot glue for a particular bullet -- and easily be able to remove it.
