    Dillon case lube

I have lost my recipe for making my own Dillon case lube and I need to make some more. I have a bottle of the RED stuff and a jar of lanolin but I forgot whatever else might be in it and the mixing ratios. Can someone help ?

Red is ISO Heat its the one you want. The Yellow is methanol and you don't want it. One bottle of the "RED" Heat to one ounce or more depending on what your sizing. I use a little more for sizing the larger rifle cases like 308 for instance. It makes the effort a little less in my opinion. Once sized I run them thru the ultrasonic cleaner and then dry prior to checking length and loading.

I mix 1-12 ratio. Works good.

Dillon case lube is lanolin and isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. 99% alcohol is much better than 90%. It won’t separate when sitting unused.

For the difference in price I will continue to mix mine if it settles after sitting a long time. I've used this formula and method for years without a problem. I am fond of Dillon products but I will pass on their lube considering its price when I know what its contents are. My Heat/Lanolin mix works fine.

This is just me. I won`t fool around trying to make their case lube when I can simply order several bottles that will last a long time.Robert

I have lanolin in a block (it is soft). Are you using liquid lanolin for this formula. If so can I use the solid and in what ratio? Is this a spray on application?

    Thanks, Jay
