    Pot pie

    Quick, easy

It is 6pm, you have been at work all day and are tired as hell, You are not really hungry you would rather have a stiff drink and crash in front of the tube. but the kids,,,,yeah you have kids and they are hungry.
You walk into the kitchen and open the pantry door, A large can of dinty moore beef stew is looking back at you
so. you grab the can and open the freezer to see what you can add to this,. HMMMM you see 2 frozen deep dish pie crusts,
open the can, dump it in one of the crusts
place the other crust on top..pinch the edges
toss it in the preheated 350 degree oven
Yell at the kids to make a salad
when it turns golden brown you are a hero, every body likes a pot pie

I'm sorry, Fro. I had to eat too much Dinty Moore Beef Stew growing up. Often it was all my little Brother and I had to eat.
Makes me gag now. I tried some a few years ago.
As soon as the can opener released that unique smell,
    I started to gag.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but just to add to those of you a little more frugal. My buddy married a woman who saved all the left-overs in the freezer--meat, veggies, etc. Once a month, she put everything in the pot with water and they had veggie/meat soup for a couple of days. Same here, save veggies, meat, etc. Mix some veggies/meat with some gravy, put in the pie plates as frodo says, instant Pot Pie.

I grew up in a restaurant. We saved all the bits of roast left over and all the vegetables. Made gravy from the roast pans, mixed it together and put baking powder biscuits on top and baked it for pot pie once a week or so.
