    Did anyone get worried today?

I had a DNS error from castboolits.gunloads.com for several hours and thought something had happened and I wasn't gonna be able to read about boolits anymore...

Well I was sort of worried. Bad things happen to web applications and sometimes those bad things escalate into bigger issues. Loss of data etc. Since it seemed to be a DNS error rather than the site giving an error I wasn't too worried, just a little.

Couldn't find any thread what happened??? that offered any information. Well did find one on a shotgun wad that was sort of interesting but nothing on the outage.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Like any computer, "servers" ARE computers and fall victim to ordinary issues such as hardware, software and peripheral mishaps. When I used to repair them, simply "reseating" memory chips would solve the problem. Servers usually have R.A.I.D. arrays (Redundant Array of Independent Disks). The latter is for purposes of "redundancy" in case one drive fails.
