    Sitrep

Well, I'm finally home again now. FWIW, I spent 21 days in the hospital. Was supposed to be there maybe 3 days, but things come up and need to be handled. At first, what was to have been a 2 hr proceedure normally, turned into a 5 hr. marathon for my doc. Then, I had some breathing problems in the aftermath, and then a bout with some sort of infection. They wanted to keep me at least 1 to 4 more days, but I'd had enough. I couldn't have gotten better care than I got from my docs and nurses, but I could NOT envision another day there. They had me on some IV antibiotics for the infection, but I'm on orals now that I'm home. It seems to be doing the job. Wounds are healing well.

Dorothy had it right back in Oz: "There's no place like home!" Amen to THAT! Will have to do some tests in a little bit to verify whether they got all the cancer or not. Whatever the Lord allows to be put in my path, I'll deal with, and be happy for the chance to do so.

I have to thank all of you who've sent up prayers on my behalf. Being away for 3 weeks was a serious loss to me. "Good company" is always a blessing, and you guys are some of the very best around. Thanks, and FWIW, I prayed for you guys as well. I always will.

Oh yes, I'm wearing Depends type undies until my nerves wake back up and resume their duties. I sure hope they'll be quick about it! But I'm just glad to be here and experiencing most of the best things in life. I'll take that any day.

Even in the best of situations, health problems scare the heck out of me because I have to relinquish control to God and the docs and let them handle it. I think the worst was when I was home alone, had to go in and the doc told me I had a heart attack. God handled it and the fear, too. You are under the best of care and I'm praying for you too. GW

Good news indeed! Keep up the medical care now that you are home. Incisions need to completely heal, exercises need to be done, appetite needs to be ignored to eat as necessary rather than as wanted (either more or less). Discipline, in other words, needs to be established or maintained or re-established.

Brother I am praying for your recovery.

I am very glad to read that you are back at home. I have had 3 lengthy hospital stays over the past 15 years, and while a hospital is a GREAT place when you are circling the drain.......it is REALLY NICE to go home once recovery is under way. Hoping and praying that healing and recovery continues apace.
