    Johnsons Past Wax

I have an older can of Johnsons paste wax..probably from the early 1970's..it has a very dark color and seems stiffer than the new Johnsons...color & stiffness hasn't changed because of time..it was always like this. I seem to get a better coverage on stocks and furniture as opposed to the thinner new stuff..I was wondering when they changed?

I don't when they changed but I have an old can that goes way back into the early 70's and I am very careful about what I use it on. Great stuff for rifle stocks. james

Remember that the wax is mixed with dryers - which do gas off. The older the wax the fewer dryers and the thicker the consistency.
