    Trip down memory lane

Last night after having some casting issues I did a web search for Lee spruce plate bullet base issues.
Found an archived link on castboolits and started reading.
Really didn’t pertain to my issue, but I kept reading any way.
After a few back of forth posts seems started to sound familiar.

So I look at the name of the OP.
And of course it was me.
Questions from my first real casting session, August 2014.

So I guess I have been at this almost 5 years. Had a pretty good run with probably 15-20 thousand cast and shot.

Until last fall when I started having issues that I now mostly attribute to contaminated range scrap.
Bad fill out, too soft, hitek failing, leaded barrels.
    It was a mess.

I am now trying to get things back on track, extra cleaned lead, different batches, doing a little mold maintenance etc.

It was fun reading about my first casting sessions.
And fun enjoying casting last night.

I have done almost the same thing. Start reading something interesting and about to post a comment, when I see I already did that a while back.

Spruce = A coniferous evergreen tree.
SPRUE = A passage through which a molten material is introduced into a mold.

Auto Correct = an annoying feature on phones, tablets, and computers that substitute a common word for the less common the writer intended.

Auto Correct = something that can be turned off and I do this automatically. I know too many big words!

I’m not sure how many big words I know but auto-correct has caused me to use some that can’t be printed here!

It was definitely auto misspell at work combined with a late night post and lack of competent proof reading.

I believe I have now updated the dictionary in my phone to recognize sprue.

Succes, it just worked, my phone didn’t change sprue to spruce.
