    M 24/47 upper forearm removal

    Been a long time since I tore apart a military Mauser. How do I get the upper forearm off without breaking it? Spring clips?
    The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

    I just went and checked one of mine. Remove the bands and cap, duh. There is a c-shaped sping clip on the upper forarm, that grips the barrel just in front of the reciever and behind the rear sight. It's on there pretty good but should come off with a bit of coaxing. It might be easier to remove the main stock from the barrelled action, then you can see it and get a good grip on it.
