    Jeep Hardtop Price

I'm trying to gauge the average price for a good factory TJ (1997-2006) hardtop.
I've found the newer TK (2007 and up) hardtops sell for between $1000-$2000 but there are not a lot of the older factory TJ hardtops on the market.
I'm not looking to buy a factory TJ hardtop but I am attempting to gauge a reasonable value for one in good shape.

Anyone know what 97-06 Jeep hardtops normally sell for?

I had a 2001 TJ for a while and when I priced a hard top (used) it was in the $1200-1750 area, depending on age and condition.

    osteodoc08 - Thanks.

Been looking on Craigslist and there just isn't much on the older TJ hardtops. Seems everyone is selling the newer JK tops (take-offs, often like new) but it's hard to get a value for the older stuff.

    300 all day long here.

    I have a 1995 wangler and a 2000 wangler.

There is a place in Kingston PA ( down the road 20 minutes) that deals in nothing but wranglers.
3 story building with about 800 jeeps torn down into parts with the 1st floor all for sale running jeeps.

Just picked up a gas tank/sending unit for my 95 for 40 bux and watched a guy pick out any hard top for 300 bux and they even loaded it for him in to his truck.

Also bought my 4:10 ford 8.8 rear there for 152.00 with a core swap.
NOS inside door skins for 35 for the set.
and a tail gate for my 2000 for 40 bux with key.

Just gotta get that Just Empty Every pocket mind set out of your mind.

Good inexpensive parts are out there just gotta look.

Is that $300 for a like new TJ hardtop? Or $300 for a "it was on a TJ once in its life hardtop"?

Normally he takes them right off the jeep if it isn't cut up and already in the storage racks.

Condition depends on how well the owner took care of the jeep as far as parts go.

I had to dig through about 30 tail gates to find one in red with the key that was in super great shape.

I could have had one faster but different color and I didn't want to paint it.

    ETA:

The place is very very organized and 95% indoors since it's right in the city.
In other words parts are not sitting out in the weather.

    That's the place .

Well the phone number matches. never knew the name of the place since there is no sign and I was given the phone number 2nd hand.

But the phone number does match what I have.

Thanks for the link.... as I said didn't know the name of the place or that there was a web site.

Good guy to deal with and his helper is good too.

Being all used parts you might have to call a few times to get what you need but he buys jeeps all up and down the east coast so if the timing is right you can get what you need.

when I had my tj I picked one up for 500 bucks. It was structurally as good as new. Had a few scratches on top that you couldn't see unless you got on a step ladder and the owner had the windows tinted and it was starting to flake and was easily removed.
