These fantastic scopes which are still around and often sell for around $200-$250 on eboy, cost $115 new in 1957 (when my dad was a boy). Using an inflation calculator, that means the scope would cost $1,046 in 2019 dollars. That is insane to me to think about that. And these scopes were what most heavy shooters used in that era for 4-position competitions.
Just goes to show how they just don’t make them like they used to. For those who haven’t had the pleasure, I highly recommend seeking one out and giving it a try. I still prefer them to the modern leupold spotter my wife has and have even gotten a few of my younger “Millennial” friends seeking ones out for themselves.
