Have Any Idea What This Press is Tooled Up For?

This is on an auction site, and has me baffled.

The top plate doesn’t appear to be threaded for dies. And notice the strange apparatus’ under the top plate and behind the lower plate.

Just a guess but probably used for some type of press fit assembly and not reloading.

It could be used to pinch your fingers if you are not paying attention to primary function of this press.

If dies go in those lower plate holes, its gotta be for swaging something.

GONRA suggests contacting Linthrop Arms Corp - Machine Division. Looks like a "Super Rugged" once off tool.... WOW!

Show the pictures to your local geotechnical laboratory. They might either know or give you a clue. Looks like it could be part of a concrete cylinder compression test stand without the lower receiver or any of the load cells.
If it was easy, anybody could do it.

Im wondering if it might have been a coining press and the lower half of the die is missing? A slug is dropped in and the press operated and you get a coin or disc that's emblazoned with a logo or other info. We had a die in a hand press for cutting coin slots in can ends when Campbells had tours. made banks to give away to the tours. We used it about once a year. A lot of factories had something similar for parts or promotional items, With out seeing the inside of the top tooling its hard to tell.

Looks to me like it could be a normal reloading press, but all the tooling is missing that bolts into those threaded holes in the bottom plate. We can't see whats in the top plate for mounting the dies. Or maybe it was some special type of die mounting that is now missing. Looks pretty heavy duty like maybe a bullet swagging press?

nice looking press. Well made. Looks like my old CH Magnum press in design. Drill and tap the upper block for a 7/8-14 and put a CH universal shell holder on the bottom block and you are in business.
